Habits of Mind

We are learning about the Habits of Mind! We started with managing impulsivity and learning to stop, think, and then act.

Jump Rope for Heart

Jump Rope for Heart information went home with your child this week. The event will be on March 24th and that will also be the last day for donations.

Point of View

We learned all about point of view! First, we read The Three Little Pigs, which was told from the pig's point of view. Then, we read The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, which was told from the wolf's point of view. Last, we chose whose point of view we believed and created a "Wanted" or "Set Free" poster for the wolf  and wrote from the perspective of the character we chose. The majority of us sided with the wolf!

Track Change Request

Monday February 13th - Wednesday April 19th Track Change Request forms and Parent Input for classroom placement forms will be available on the school website. Parents will not be notified of track changes until mid-May and class placement notification will not occur until May and June depending on your student’s assigned track. If you have trouble accessing the form on the website, please visit the main office.

Scholastic Book Order

Scholastic book flyers will go home  the week we track back. If interested, orders are due 3/31. You can order via check or online using code NWTXL: https://orders.scholastic.com/NWTXL 

Yearbooks

Yearbooks are on sale now. A form will go out the week we track back. If interested in purchasing a yearbook, the orders are due April 15th and cost $15. Orders placed after April 15th will cost $16. You can also place orders online at: Strawbridge.net with code 11085. All orders are due April 30th.

Spring Carnival and Basket

Second Grade will be auctioning off a "Date Night" themed basket at our 3/24 Spring Festival! If you are interested in bringing in an item for this basket, please bring one in by 3/17 so we can create this basket in time for the Spring Festival. 

The basket will then be auctioned off at the festival. Our theme is "Date Night" and any items would be appreciated. Some suggestions are: gift cards to restaurants, Redbox, popcorn, candy items, or anything you would like!
