Field Day Info

From Mr. Owens:

Field Day for Tracks 2, 3, & 4 will take place Thursday, June 23rd.  Pre-K-2nd grade will participate from 9:30-11:30 and 3-5 grades will participate from 1:00-3:00.  This is an event that cannot take place without the support of the entire Banks Road community.  We are in need of several parent volunteers to run the different stations.  Volunteers must be approved through Wake County Schools volunteer system.  Parents planning on attending Field Day are expected to run a station as this is a student event.  Volunteers can sign up at  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0d44a4af2cabfa7-field.  Thank you and we are looking forward to a great event.

Important Dates for June

Please see below for upcoming important dates:

June 23: Field day from 9:30am-11:30am (information on how you can volunteer will come soon)
Track 2, 3, and 4 Field Day is June 23rd. Our time will be 9:30am-11:30am. Parents are encouraged to volunteer to help out at this event. This is not an event where parents come to watch field day, they can come to help out. I'll share the volunteer sign-up sheet, once I receive it from Mr. Owens. There is a good chance your child will get wet! Please bring a change of clothes. Students can not wear bathing suits.

June 28th: Ice Cream Party: our class will celebrate with an ice cream party with Mrs. Lawrence's class! (Ice Cream Sign-Up Sheet)

June 28th: Meet the Teacher 5:30pm-7pm

June 29th: Narnia Party (Narnia Sign-Up Sheet)

June 30th: Last day of school and report cards go home

End of the Year Party!

Butterfly Life Cycle

We loved watching our baby caterpillars go through the butterfly life cycle!

Baby caterpillars. We named them and watched them grow!

When they were ready, they went into their chrysalis.

Lastly, they became a butterfly!

Spirit Week!

Spirit Week is next week. If your child would like, they can come dressed in the following:

Monday: Wear blue and green

Tuesday: Wear your teacher's favorite color. Mine is purple. :)

Wednesday: Super Hero Day 

Thursday: We track out.
