We didn't let a little (well, maybe a lot) of rain damper our field trip! We had a blast exploring Historic Oakview and the skies cleared up right when we arrived.

Butterfly Life Cycle

We were given a marshmallow, tootsie roll, gummy worm, and a cracker shaped like a butterfly. We weren't told why, but to create something based on what we have been learning about in science. The students took a moment to think and then realized they can create the butterfly life cycle! After they did that, they even created butterflies with the food...I never thought to do that!

Habit of Mind: Empathy

We are learning about empathy and trying our best to understand others. We liked the expression, "to walk in someone else's shoes" to help us to remember to consider what other people may be feeling. Here we are modeling what empathy looks like to us.

April Reminders

We have a lot going on next week!

4/25: Field Trip to Historic Oakview--please make sure your child is here on time. If they are bringing lunch from home, please put it in a gallon size bag with their name on it.

4/26: Musical! It is at 9:40am and parents are invited to come! Please have your child wear a solid red shirt. If they do not have one, we can always wear a red shirt inside out. Please also have them wear black pants.

4/27: Our class pictures will be taken this day! Order forms went home on Tuesday for class and spring pictures.

4/28: Interium reports will go home and it will also be the last day for Scholastic Reading Club orders.
