Helpful Websites

Our class will be using a lot of technology in second grade! If you click this link:http://edu.symbaloo.com/mix/secondgradewebsites7 --I have linked all the websites we use onto this page for easy reference, as they can also be utilized at home. Below is a brief descriptions of the ones we use the most often and want to highlight:

Achieve 3000-this site allows students to read articles and answer questions pertaining to the articles. The site begins to level the articles based on their level of understanding. We will start using this website next week, so the class will be familiar with it shortly. We do this during our "listening to reading" center during Daily 5 rotations. I like this website a lot because kids can search for articles that interest them, the articles are at their reading level, and then they answer questions based on the article.
Sumdog-this site allows students to practice math skills and the more they "play" the more customized the questions will get based on the concepts they grasp/need more review on.

IXL- This site also has math and language arts practice problems.
